Sports therapist and alternative practitioner
Sports and movement have been part of everything I’ve done all my life: from soccer to gymnastics, high diving, judo and tae kwon do to climbing: I’ve done a lot of things, both team and individual sports, and some of them I’ve even competed in for longer periods of time. But then I finally stuck to my main sports, basketball and skateboarding.
This is also where I gained my wealth of experience with injuries. Ankles, shoulders, hips, back, finger joints: it would be easier to list the unaffected parts of my body. Even though there were many extremely painful incidents, these experiences help me even better nowadays to put myself in the shoes of my patients and to understand what it means to be restricted in one’s movements or to have chronic pain.
With this background, I decided to study sports with a focus on prevention and rehabilitation. Shortly after submitting my diploma thesis with a sports psychology approach, I realized that I wanted to dive deeper into this topic and completed my additional master’s degree in sports psychology.
While still working on my second thesis on meditation and mindfulness in the context of sport psychology, I became more and more aware that I wanted to combine everything: I wanted to work more holistically and independently and be able to help people directly and more comprehensively. So I decided to train for 3 years as an alternative practitioner (German: „Heilpraktiker“) with a focus on phytotherapy (medicinal herbalism). While I was still finishing my master’s thesis, I had already started my education and then in 2015 I passed the Heilpraktiker exam.
It is very important to me to consider the people who come to me for treatment and training in their entirety and to listen to them carefully. This is the only way to identify therapeutic approaches that have often been overlooked so far and to better support them on their individual path to their goal.
In our holistic training, I am not interested in quick weight loss or simply increasing maximum strength. Instead, I want to bring your body back into balance, to find your center with you, in order to really make you fit for all everyday, athletic and extraordinary challenges in the long term. I would like to accompany you on this journey and, with my many years of experience as a sports therapist and trainer in various rehabilitation facilities, I would like to be your contact person for all health and sports related questions.
…whether you want to regain your full mobility after an operation, are looking for a trainer for a comprehensive personal training or want to learn more about the world of herbal medicine.
I look forward to meeting you!
