Sports therapy and alternative practitioner (Heilpraktiker) in Munich
Several injuries and related encounters with various doctors and therapists have led me to the following realization:
I no longer want to be told from the outside how my body has to function and when and why I may or may not feel pain. I want to find out for myself what is good for me and what I prefer to leave alone. Even if I should not be perfect in this and still allow myself the one or other vice. I want to be content, relaxed and happy. And I would like to accompany others to achieve this. I want to support them to reach their potential. Not to be restricted anymore, be it in sports, in everyday life, at work or when playing with their own children or grandchildren. I love the fact that in the last few years I have been able to meet and work with more and more like-minded people – who reflect on themselves and their way of moving and change for the better through wisdom.
I want to be the ONE place to go for all aspects of holistic health and performance for my clients.
Scars can still have an impact on our well-being after many years, even decades. Even if we have partially already forgotten about them. They don’t always have to be as large and somewhat traumatic as, for example, after C-sections or appendectomies. Sometimes even the small, not optimally healed cuts of a knee arthroscopy, the cut of a shard of glass or a fall in childhood are enough to completely disrupt the body.
Thus, they can affect the neuromuscular control of the muscles and, in general, the brain’s perception of certain parts of the body. Back pain, restricted movement, weak muscles, altered posture, joint pain to mood swings – scars can make our lives difficult in many ways without us suspecting them. With the MSTR® method we look at your scars together and treat them in a gentle way.
Using this method, I analyze your feet and their function, your posture, i.e. how you stand, your gait and the movements of (almost) every joint in your body and derive suitable exercises for you.
Anatomy in Motion is about bringing the function of your feet into harmony with the rest of your body above them. The so-called Flow Motion Model is a kind of map for the movements of all joints in the body in certain gait phases. For example, if the pelvis tilts in one direction when the foot is placed on the ground, the other parts of the body make associated movements in a predictable way. If these movements are missing or not available to the body, it gets into an imbalance. It has to compensate. Pain, certain postures and evasive movements can arise. The back muscles may work too much because the big toe at the bottom cannot fulfill its function.
It is important that we make these movements in the joints in all directions accessible to your body again. This is the best way to bring your body back into its natural balance (in the truest sense of the word) and to allow healing for all kinds of symptoms.
For this we work with the AiM wedges on your feet and with exercises for the whole body.
Gait, posture and movement analysis to diagnose possible causes of pain, functional limitations of the musculoskeletal system and complaints of the organs form the basis of your holistic treatment. The data helps me to select the right exercises in the sense of the above mentioned Anatomy in Motion method.
The optimal mixture of modern technology with the traditional art of diagnostics: video analysis, foot scan with the force plate (see below), detailed anamnesis and physical examination.
With the videos of your gait and the functionality of your feet, I can show you directly in which gait phases certain body areas show too much or too little movement. In slow motion, it often becomes obvious whether, for example, one of your arms is swinging much further than the other. This in turn has interactions with all the other joints in the body. For example, a foot or the neck can be either the trigger or the sufferer of the lack of mobility in the upper body or chest.
Also how your spine aligns itself during standing and walking is of elementary importance, whether your body finds its „right“ center, i.e. its optimal balance DURING the movement or not.
The force plate is one of the most important tools for me and I can’t imagine my daily practice without it. At almost every session I will have you stand on it and we will evaluate the measurements together:
Are you putting more weight on one leg than the other, and are you standing more in your forefeet than in your heels? How much contact area do your feet have at all? And does your body’s center of gravity move over the measured time and does it tend more to one side or the other?
That’s just a small sample of the info I can pull out of a measurement. Especially if we also do a dynamic measurement where you walk across the plate. So I can see and show in real time how your feet work in gait. And I get more ideas which movements your body might be missing and which we should definitely reintroduce
Big plus for you: you don’t have to rely solely on what I tell you about yourself and your posture…. You see it in combination with the video analysis with your own eyes!
Above all, we can quickly and easily find out what effects certain exercises and treatments have on you and also record them over the course of several sessions.
My goal of testing your muscles according to the Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) method is to find out how well your brain can activate certain muscles of your body. Often it is not only about the power of the „hardware“, but about how well the „software“ works.
There is a basic principle of our body: if one part or structure is not able to do its ‚job‘, another part has to take over. Thus, one muscle may not cooperate well in a particular movement, and therefore another must step in and becomes overloaded.
For example, in many of us, due to excessive sitting, some muscles of the hip are ‚offline‘ or poorly controlled and other muscles (neck, shoulders, legs, back, jaw) are overworked in the long run in their effort to compensate for this task.
Scars, habits, strength deficits or even trauma can also influence certain movement patterns and be the cause. Dysbalances, asymmetries, compensation patterns and postures arise that can lead to pain in the long run.
Together we find out which muscle is overworked and which is not really „kicking in“. The former we release, the latter we reactivate. And you get a suitable exercise for at home, with which you can easily continue to work on it.
If it is not possible for us to meet in person, you have the option to work with me online. As with ’normal‘ training, you will receive a full treatment plan with exercises that are specifically tailored to your needs.
You can also reach your goals online! For this I offer you training sessions via video chat over zoom. The only requirement is a stable internet connection and for our sessions together I need some information from you so that we can work efficiently towards your goal and use the valuable time together right away. In advance I will receive pictures of your posture, videos of certain movements and your gait together with answers to your anamnesis.
In the comfort of your own home, I will help you work on your foot function, mobility, strength, and coordination through my experience on the screen, and bring about positive changes.
If you are interested, please contact me for a free initial consultation and we will clarify the details and further procedure together!
You want to get in touch with me and learn more about my treatment, training and education offer? Let’s also talk in person, so open questions are quickly clarified and we can find out if my approach suits you.
